Shipping policy

This Shipping Policy explains how Sharp Edge Australia handles delivery, dispatch, pickup and shipping-related enquiries for products purchased from our website.

This policy should be read together with our Refund and Returns Policy and Terms of Service. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

1. Shipping Area

We ship orders within Australia.

If you are outside Australia and would like to place an order, contact us before ordering so we can confirm whether supply and shipping are available.

2. Order Processing

We aim to process and dispatch in-stock orders as quickly as possible after payment has been confirmed.

Most in-stock orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days.

Dispatch times may be longer for:

  • custom ordered products
  • special order products
  • made-to-order or cut-to-size products
  • products ordered from a supplier
  • bulky, heavy or unusual items
  • orders requiring manual freight quoting
  • orders placed during busy periods, public holidays or supplier delays

If there is a significant delay with your order, we will contact you using the details provided at checkout.

3. Delivery Timeframes

Once dispatched, most orders are delivered within 1 to 7 business days to most Australian metro and regional areas.

Remote locations may take longer, and delivery may take up to 12 business days or more depending on the carrier, destination and service selected.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

4. Shipping Methods

We may use Australia Post, Sendle, courier services, prepaid satchels, padded envelopes, local delivery or another suitable delivery method depending on the order.

Parcels up to 20 kg are commonly sent using Australia Post where suitable.

We may choose the most appropriate shipping method based on product size, weight, destination, value, availability and carrier requirements.

5. Tracking

Where tracking is available, tracking details will be provided after dispatch.

Tracking updates are managed by the carrier. If tracking has not updated for a reasonable period, contact us and we will assist where possible.

6. Express Shipping and Additional Services

Express shipping or additional delivery services may be available for some orders.

If you require express shipping, signature on delivery, insurance or another special service, contact us before placing your order or select the available option at checkout.

Additional charges may apply.

7. Free Shipping

Free shipping may be offered on eligible orders over $300.

Free shipping applies only where it is shown or made available at checkout.

Some items or delivery locations may be excluded from free shipping, including bulky, heavy, remote, special order or manually quoted freight items. If additional freight charges are required, we will contact you before dispatch.

Local pickup may be available from:

Pickup is available only after we confirm your order is ready.

Do not attend for pickup until you have received confirmation that your order is ready.

9. Local Delivery

By special arrangement, we may deliver within the local area ourselves.

Local delivery is not guaranteed and must be confirmed by Sharp Edge Australia before it applies.

10. Custom Ordered and Special Order Products

Custom ordered, special order, made-to-order, cut-to-size or customer-specified products may have longer processing and dispatch times.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • band saw blades
  • cold saw blades
  • products ordered to a customer’s requested size, specification, machine, application or configuration
  • products specially ordered from a supplier for a customer
  • products cut, modified, sharpened or prepared specifically for a customer

We will provide timing information where practical, but supplier and production delays may occur.

11. Incorrect Delivery Details

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery details at checkout.

If an order is delayed, lost or returned because incorrect or incomplete delivery details were provided, the customer may be responsible for any additional shipping or redelivery costs.

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to correct your delivery details.

12. Authority to Leave

If you give authority to leave or request that a parcel be left unattended, you accept the risk of loss, theft or damage after the carrier records the parcel as delivered, except where the law provides otherwise.

13. Delivery Problems, Missing Parcels or Damage in Transit

If your order has not arrived within the expected timeframe, or if it arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • your order number
  • delivery address
  • tracking number, if available
  • photos of any damage to the product or packaging
  • any relevant carrier notifications

If a product is damaged in transit or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide a remedy as required by Australian Consumer Law.

14. Risk and Title

Ownership of products passes to you once full payment has been received.

Risk in the products passes to you when the products are delivered to the delivery address, collected by you, or otherwise transferred as agreed, except where the law provides otherwise.

15. Sharpening Services and Return Shipping

Shipping arrangements for sharpening services may differ from product orders.

Customers are generally responsible for sending tools or blades to us unless we agree otherwise.

Return shipping for sharpening services may be offered free where the sharpening value meets the applicable free return shipping threshold shown on our sharpening services page or otherwise confirmed by us.

Contact us before sending items if you are unsure about packaging, shipping or return arrangements.
