Crafted from durable chrome alloy, these split circular button dies are designed for use with a die stock handle.
Ideal for both chasing existing threads and creating new male threads on non-ferrous metals and plastics.
Engineered with the British Standard Fine (BSF) thread form, which offers a finer pitch than the British Standard Whitworth (BSW) for enhanced thread engagement.
Introduced in 1908 and specified in BS84:1956, the BSF thread form provides greater tensile stress area on external threads compared to coarse threads of the same size.
Fine threads resist stripping better under high load conditions and are well-suited for applications with limited engagement length or thin wall thicknesses.
Please note, chrome alloy dies are not recommended for precision, safety-critical, or high-accuracy threading tasks.
