These Terms of Service apply to your use of the Sharp Edge Australia website and to purchases made from Sharp Edge Australia.

By using our website, placing an order, requesting a quote, requesting sharpening services or otherwise dealing with us, you agree to these terms.

Nothing in these terms limits, excludes or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

For technical products, customers are responsible for checking product suitability before purchase, including dimensions, machine compatibility, material suitability, application, bore, kerf, tooth count, TPI, length, width, shank, profile and other relevant specifications.

If you are unsure whether a product is suitable, contact us before ordering.

4. Orders

An order placed through our website is an offer to purchase the selected products.

We may accept or reject an order, or contact you to confirm details, where reasonably necessary.

We may cancel or refund an order if:

  • the product is unavailable
  • there is a pricing, description or stock error
  • payment is not received or is reversed
  • fraud or misuse is suspected
  • delivery details are incomplete or invalid
  • the order cannot reasonably be fulfilled
  • a supplier or manufacturer cannot supply the product

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

Prices are shown in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise.

Prices may include GST where applicable.

6. Availability

We aim to keep products advertised online available, but availability may change without notice.

Some products may be subject to supplier availability, lead times, minimum order quantities or special-order requirements.

If a product is unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you to discuss options, which may include waiting for supply, substituting a suitable product, cancelling the affected item, or refunding the affected amount.

7. Custom Ordered and Customer-Specified Products

Some products are custom ordered, special order, made-to-order, cut-to-size or customer-specified.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • band saw blades
  • cold saw blades
  • products ordered to a customer’s requested size, specification, machine, application or configuration
  • products specially ordered from a supplier for a customer
  • products cut, modified, sharpened or prepared specifically for a customer

Customers are responsible for checking all measurements, specifications, machine compatibility and product suitability before placing a custom or special order.

Custom ordered, special order, made-to-order, cut-to-size or customer-specified products may not be cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded for change of mind, incorrect customer measurements, incorrect product selection or customer order error once we have started processing, ordering, cutting, modifying or preparing the product.

This does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If a custom ordered or customer-specified product is faulty, unsafe, not as described, not fit for a purpose made known to us, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide a remedy as required by law.

8. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping and delivery are handled in accordance with our Shipping Policy.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details.

If delivery is delayed, lost, damaged or otherwise affected, contact us so we can assess the issue and assist where required.

9. Local Pickup

Where local pickup is available, orders must not be collected until we confirm they are ready.

10. Returns, Refunds and Consumer Guarantees

Returns, refunds, exchanges and warranty claims are handled in accordance with our Refund and Returns Policy.

Our products and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law where that law applies.

If a product or service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, cancellation or other remedy as required by law.

11. Sharpening Services

Sharpening services are provided based on the item supplied, its condition, the requested work and our assessment.

We may decline, modify or recommend against a sharpening request if we consider the item unsafe, unsuitable, uneconomical to sharpen, excessively worn, damaged, contaminated, or otherwise inappropriate for the requested service.

Customers are responsible for safely packaging items sent to us for sharpening.

Sharpening timeframes are estimates only unless expressly agreed otherwise.

If a sharpening service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide a remedy as required by law.

12. Product Advice and Recommendations

We may provide product recommendations, technical guidance or sharpening advice based on information supplied by you.

You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is complete and accurate.

Recommendations are provided in good faith but may depend on factors outside our control, including machine condition, operator use, material, installation, maintenance and site conditions.

13. Accounts

If customer accounts are available, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.

You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it has been misused or used in breach of these terms.

14. Promotions and Discounts

Promotions, discounts, free shipping offers and coupon codes may be subject to additional conditions.

Unless stated otherwise, promotions:

  • are available for a limited time
  • may not apply to all products
  • may not apply to custom, special order or trade-priced products
  • may not be combined with other offers
