This Refund and Returns Policy applies to products purchased from Sharp Edge Australia.
Nothing in this policy limits, excludes or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law. If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy as required by law.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
We may accept change-of-mind returns for eligible products within 30 days of delivery or pickup.
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, the product must be:
- unused
- in saleable condition
- in its original packaging where applicable
- complete with any accessories, manuals, documentation or parts supplied with it
- accompanied by proof of purchase
Change-of-mind returns must be approved by us before the product is returned.
For approved change-of-mind returns:
- return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility
- original shipping charges are not refundable, unless required by law
- we may refuse the return if the product is used, damaged, incomplete, altered, or not in saleable condition
2. Custom Ordered and Customer-Specified Products
Custom ordered, special order, made-to-order, cut-to-size or customer-specified products cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded for change of mind, incorrect customer measurements, incorrect product selection, or customer order error.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- band saw blades
- cold saw blades
- products ordered to a customer’s requested size, specification, machine, application or configuration
- products specially ordered from a supplier for a customer
- products cut, modified, sharpened or prepared specifically for a customer
Customers are responsible for checking all measurements, specifications, machine compatibility and product suitability before placing a custom or special order.
This does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If a custom ordered or customer-specified product is faulty, unsafe, not as described, not fit for a purpose made known to us, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide a remedy as required by law.
3. Products That Cannot Be Returned for Change of Mind
Unless required by law, we do not accept change-of-mind returns for:
- custom ordered, special order, made-to-order, cut-to-size or customer-specified products
- used products
- products that have been fitted, installed, sharpened, altered or modified after delivery
- products damaged by misuse, incorrect installation, incorrect storage, neglect or normal wear and tear
- clearance, discontinued or special-order products where this was made clear before purchase
- products returned without approval
4. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
If you believe a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect, unsafe, not as described, or otherwise does not meet a consumer guarantee, contact us as soon as possible.
Please provide:
- your name and contact details
- order number or proof of purchase
- a clear description of the issue
- photos or videos showing the issue where possible
- details of how the product was used, fitted or installed
We may need to inspect the product or ask for further information before confirming the appropriate remedy.
5. Remedies Under Australian Consumer Law
If a product has a major failure, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement, or to keep the product and receive compensation for any reduction in value.
If a product has a minor failure, we may choose to repair the product, replace it, or provide a refund within a reasonable time.
Where a remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law, we will provide that remedy in accordance with the law.
6. Damage During Delivery
If a product arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days of receiving the order where possible.
Please keep the product, packaging and delivery materials until we have assessed the issue.
If the product was damaged in transit and the claim is accepted, we will arrange a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy as required.
7. Returning Products

Products should be packed securely to prevent damage during return shipping.
8. Return Shipping Costs
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
For products that fail to meet a consumer guarantee, we will cover or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs where required by law.
If we inspect a returned product and determine that it is not faulty and does not fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be responsible for return shipping, inspection or redelivery costs. Where possible, we will advise you of any expected costs before proceeding.
9. Refunds
Refunds will be processed after we have received and assessed the returned product, unless otherwise required by law.
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method, unless we agree another method with you.
The time it takes for funds to appear in your account may depend on your bank or payment provider.
10. Exchanges and Replacements
If an exchange or replacement is approved, we will arrange the replacement product after the returned product has been received and assessed, unless otherwise required by law.
For faulty products or products that fail to meet a consumer guarantee, replacement shipping will be handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
For non-faulty approved exchanges, additional shipping costs may apply.
11. Manufacturer Warranties
Some products may also be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
Manufacturer warranties are separate from your rights under Australian Consumer Law. A manufacturer’s warranty does not replace or limit your consumer guarantee rights.
Depending on the product and issue, it may be practical for us to assist you with a manufacturer warranty claim, or for you to contact the manufacturer directly.
12. Sharpening Services
Sharpening services are assessed separately from product returns.
If you have a concern about a sharpening service, contact us as soon as possible with details of the issue and photos where relevant.
Where a sharpening service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide a remedy as required by law.
