- Ideal for both chasing existing threads and creating new male threads on non-ferrous metals and plastics.
- Not suitable for precision, safety, or critical thread applications.
- The British Standard Whitworth (BSW) thread form, developed by Sir Joseph Whitworth in 1841, features rounded roots and crests as specified in BS84:1956.
- BSW threads have a distinctive 55° thread angle, differing from the 60° angle found in Metric and Unified thread standards.
